The days are getting shorter and late nights/early mornings have a crispness in the air. Fall is here. With some of the unpredictable moments of weather we have experienced over the course of the year, local beauty maven, Felicia Renee offers a few beauty and hair trends that will be a go-to throughout thisleave turning season.
Dark lippies are a win for the leather jacket, distress jean and boot wearing time of year.Felicia specifies reds and plums as hit hues for the next few months. Pairing them with a bronze eye, ranging from gold tones (MAC Veluxe Pearl Twinks) topink tones (MAC Veluxe Pearl Expensive Pink), any of the colors from the NARS III Naked pallet is the way to go. This sultry look gives just enough attention in all the right places to show offany layered look.
Felicia offers tips to compliment the bold tones on your eyes and lips by accentuating the natural glow in your face with a ‘dewy’ finish on your canvas. The damp appearance gives a flawless, healthy and hydrated finish, to bring out the bold lip and shimmery eye.
What is a queen without her crown? With the contrasts of golds and jewel tones of reds and purples, “pairing the sultry face colors with one of two dos: the lob or pixie”, says the local hair and make-up stylist. Felicia explains the ‘lob’ to be a longer bob; a hair cut below the shoulder and above the bra strap, approximately 10-12 inches in length and usually dark brunette in color with blunt cuts. To build dimension, Felicia notes that the hair style has been seen with copper tones like reds and golds or even golden blonde highlights to add definition. You can see this look on celebs like Kerry Washington and Ciaramost recently. Another ‘crown’ option for the fall would be the classic pixie cut, as seen as a stable favorite on stars like Halle Berry and Toni Braxton (when she’s not wiggin’ it out with her sisters).
There are lots of looks to choose from in the hair and beauty section for the fall. Choose at your leisure and be fabulous doing it!
